While Watches does not directly support the idea of a connected group of athletes in a relay race, one possible answer would be to create one watch for the group, but use a lap for each separate athlete. Then you could choose to copy the individual efforts into the separate individuals later.
An even better workaround was reported by one coach is to create a main watch for the team and a watch for each athlete. So, a one-mile relay race with four runners would have five watches. To ensure accurate timing, simply hit Start All
at the beginning of the race, and then sometime during the first lap, Stop and Reset the three other runners back to zero (or just Start both the main watch and the first runners at the same moment). Then as each lap finishes, tap the Stop button
of the finishing runner and the Start
button of the next runner. Finally, at the end of the last lap, tap Stop All
. You will now have the correct time for the group and each runner's separate performance.
